Maturana blanca
Maturana Blanca is an indigenous grape variety of exceptional quality, cultivated in La Rioja for centuries.
In Navarrete and the surrounding areas, it is known as Ribadavia and appears under this name in ancient writings dating back to 1622.
It is, in fact, the earliest recorded reference to a grape variety in La Rioja.

Maturana Blanca grape
The Maturana Blanca is a rare and ancient grape variety, native to La Rioja, where it stands out as the region’s oldest known white grape. It was recovered by J. Carlos Sancha and F. Martínez de Toda from old vines found between Navarrete and Sotés, in the hills of Moncalvillo.
The Maturana Blanca produces wines with high acidity, freshness, and a distinctive aromatic profile that includes citrus and floral notes, along with a subtle herbal touch.
